GrantExtension is an IRS tax-extension e-filing service. We collect only the information needed to prepare and transmit your extension request (Form 4868, 7004, or 8868) and to process payment. We do not sell your personal information.

2. Information we collect

  • Account data: name and email used to create and secure your account.
  • Filing data: the information required for your extension, which may include your address, Social Security Number or Employer Identification Number, entity/return type, and tax estimates.
  • Payment data: processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
  • Technical data: standard log and device information used to operate and secure the service.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to prepare and e-file your extension with the IRS, process your payment, send filing confirmations and service notices, provide support, and meet legal and recordkeeping obligations. Sensitive identifiers such as your SSN or EIN are used solely to prepare and submit your filing.

4. How we protect it

We transmit data over encrypted connections and submit filings through authorized IRS e-file channels. We do not store sensitive identifiers like your SSN or EIN in your browser's local storage, and we limit access to filing data to what is necessary to provide the service. 5. Sharing

We share information with the IRS to file your extension and with service providers who help us operate (for example, our payment processor and hosting provider), under agreements that limit their use of the data. We may disclose information if required by law. We do not sell personal information.

You may access or update your account information, or request deletion of data we are not legally required to retain, by contacting us.
