Refund Policy
Last updated: June 2026
Our guarantee
We want you filed and accepted. If you pay for an extension and the IRS rejects it for a reason we cannot resolve by correcting and resubmitting, you are entitled to a full refund of the filing fee you paid us.
When refunds apply
- The IRS rejects the extension and the rejection cannot be corrected and resubmitted.
- You were charged in error or charged more than the advertised fee for your form.
- A duplicate charge occurred for the same filing.
When refunds may not apply
- The IRS accepted your extension. Once accepted, the service we charged for has been delivered.
- A rejection was caused by inaccurate or incomplete information you provided and you decline to let us correct and resubmit it.
- Charges from the IRS itself, such as tax owed, interest, or penalties — those are paid to the government, not to us, and are not filing fees.
TODO(verify): confirm exact refund eligibility windows and any non-refundable processing components.
How to request a refund
Email [email protected] or use our contact form with your name and the email used to file. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method. TODO(verify): confirm refund processing timeframe (e.g., 5–10 business days).
A reminder about paying tax
An extension gives you more time to file, not more time to pay. Refunds cover the filing fee only — any tax, interest, or penalties owed to the IRS are separate. See our penalties guide to understand how to avoid them.
